Vitamin E helps with the fight against Prostate Cancer
In many developed countries Prostate Cancer still holds the second place position for deaths in men caused by cancer. This fact alone should galvanise the adult male population to start taking care of their prostate. But this advice is still falling on deaf ears as the collective ignorance on the subject shows.
I am writing a series of articles in a non-technical manner with the aim of helping men to understand what the prostate gland is all about and some of the many ways that a healthy prostate can be achieved. These piece high-lights the positive effects Vitamin E has on the prostate.
Staff at the University of Rochester, New York, discovered that adding vitamin E to prostate cancer cells seriously reduces the production of a receptor for testosterone named the androgen receptor or AR for short. This receptor is required for the growth and development of the cancer. Vitamin E does this by acting on two proteins which are associated with prostate cancer.
Researchers are still unclear has to exactly why vitamin E, and not other antioxidants reduced the risk of developing prostate cancer. But they do accept, however, that vitamin E is more efficient when used with other natural remedies such as vitamin D and selenium in the fight against this disease.
I will finish this article as normally do by banging on about the positive benefits that massage can have on your prostate. And I don’t mean the invasive internal type either. Just a simple piece of non medical kit that you sit on, fully clothed, is all you need. I really do think that every man over the age of 45 should have one of these it is that important
