Prostate Health Tips

I am a great believer that prevention has to be better than cure, and with a few simple lifestyle choices the health of your prostate, as well as overall health, can be much improved. We only have the one body and it has to last a long time so why not look after it.

Water

Water is food for the cells of our body. Cells have to be adequately hydrated for them to be able to take on nutrients from the body because without this food supply the cells will contract, collapse and die. This is especially important for cells of the immune system which require to be well nourished at all times to fight off infection. So how much water do we need to drink?

One cup an hour is usually enough to keep the cells of the body well hydrated throughout the day, and sparingly before retiring for the night. If you become thirsty, your cells are dehydrated and have been for anywhere between 30 and 60 minutes so it is important not to allow yourself to become thirsty. The colour of your urine is another method we can employ. Ideally, it will be a light straw colour. Darker coloured-urine is a sign of dehydration.

The prostate along with other organs of the body requires, nutrients, the correct ph balance and hydration; and a healthy lifestyle with adequate amounts of water will go a long way in helping your body fight infection and function normally.

Food

This is a difficult one because many of us lead busy lives relying on fast food and processed meals for our daily fuel, but with a few adjustments, most of us can fit in a healthy snack here and there. but remember we are what we eat.

Supplements

There are some excellent and proven supplements for the prostate many of which contain Saw Palmetto, Pumpkin Seeds, Garlic, Tomatoes, Zinc and the current daddy of them all EPILOBIUM EXTRACTS. If it is not possible for you to maintain a healthy diet containing the necessary ingredients for good prostate health, then I would strongly recommend you consider a taking a supplement to make up the shortfall. To help you on your way, we have recommended a herbal product for your consideration called ProstMD which is a natural herbal supplement.

Benjamin Franklin famously said: “An ounce of Prevention is worth a Pound of Cure.”
